Last night was the official opening of the new Syn Studios and our company bounenkai party. We have been planning, designing and building the new studio space for well over a year and finally we opened our doors for all to see.
Not only was this our new studio opening, but the launch of our new website (http://www.syn.co.jp) produced by Chris Palmieri of AQ, we also launched our new brand identity by North, (who I have been working with since 1996), the new logo features a whole new color scheme for Syn to represent the 4 divisons, Syn Songs, Syn Studios, Syn Entertainment and Syn Create.
The food for the party was amazing, prosciutto ham, parmegiano cheese from Mario Frittoli’s restaurant i sentieri, yakitori from Genpachi and smoked salmon.
We also enjoyed sake from the traditional barrel and custom made Syn-branded wooden cups and Chandon champagne.
DJ’s included Syn’s very own funk master J and John Beulleus.
In the studio we demonstrated a 5:1 surround mix for the Marc Newson film, “Knife Through Water” that Syn is currently producing.
Lastly, the table tennis competition seemed to be a big success with the 2 winners each getting an iPod.
Thanks to everyone who attended and see you in 2010 for more fun and games.

Moët & Chandon, the champagne of cinema, has been the talk of this year’s Tokyo International Film Festival for its decision to celebrate its Muse in the “Lost in Translation” city that skyrocketed her to international renown.
The 52nd floor of Mado Lounge, Roppongi Hills was filled with a host of celebrity guests.
The beautiful Michibata sisters, Jessica and Angelica.
Girolamo.
Marc Newson + You know who.
Junichi Ishida with Scarlett and Mark Bedingham.
The bubbly and fun, Marie.
Linda Werszler & Yubeteh Rodriguez.
Lots and lots of Bling!

Here are some snaps from Moët & Chandon’s “A Tribute to Cinema” in Tokyo.
Like any ambitious idea, you first need to find like-minded collaborators to help you make the vision a reality. Four projector companies and numerous weeks of planning and approvals later...we pull together the perfect team. Thanks to our MHD Diageo client for believing in us and having the ‘guts’ to to approve the concept, and for WOW’s patience and of course, awesome CG talent.
Snapshot of the projection - with Tokyo revolving, then turning gold.
Our blank canvas. (Soon to be a 10m x 3m Projection Screen)
Mapping the projectors to Mado Lounge windows.
More Mapping. 10 hours later!
But all worth it in the end.

I attended this years Victoria secrets show with special guests Black Eyed Peas and some of the best bodies in the business. As you can see, I was seated on the 4th row which was close enough to feel the heat from those hard working bodies.
The line up of friends attending the VS show.
