The globe-trotting music crew of Syn is everywhere! This week, the spotlight is on Singapore. Yes, Syn is growing and we are here at the Lion City for some work and pleasure.

And, speaking of pleasure, it was absolutely ours to be a part of the inaugural “Record Store Day” in Singapore! A series of events took place over the April 20th weekend, not to mention lots of rare, new, big, small and pretty records went on sale across various locations in Singapore.

Kick-started by the talented folks at Vinyl of the Day, the night ended on a high with the vinyl-only ”Wax On Wax Off” party at the uber-cool LOOF, where party revelers grooved to the sounds of Darren Dubwise, FUNK B’STARD and DJ Kentaro into wee hours of the night.

We at Syn had a fantastic time at the agnès b. reception party last friday March 15th!

The Aoyama branch of this international fashion brand has had a total make-over. To celebrate its recent renewal, the whole shop was decked out with not just the classic clothes agnès b. is famous for, but a huge array of spring flowers and some incredible abstract artworks by, guess who… Futura!

Furniture from both the Paris and New York agnès b. shops filled some of the open-plan shopping space, and what would a party be without macaroons and free-flowing bubbly?!

We love being invited to these great events. Hopefully we’ll see you out and about the city sometime soon as well!

2012 saw Syn produce the street-event, “Harajuku Jack”, for the clothing brand, “G-Star RAW”. Last night, we were at the launch party for “THE ART OF RAW” 2013 Spring-Summer Campaign! We know this is going to be something very special - something to definitely keep an eye on - and we’re so happy to say we were there from the beginning.

For many years, G-Star has been experimenting with the RAW ART Series. The brand has been exploring different techniques, textile expressions and denim creations, all with the hope of developing something new, sometimes odd and always exciting.

The short movie, “THE ART OF RAW - The Unlimited Possibilities of Denim featuring Puppy”, was shown at the party. The clip is now available on YouTube; check it out below and see G-Star’s international interpretation of the new denim.

American EDM Producer and DJ, Skrillex, was behind the beats for the clip. Coupled with the G-Star visuals and vision as a brand, this little clip has become something extraordinary and totally inspiring - we love their passion, creativity, and constant drive to push the boundaries!

What’s more, as of today, the 3D “ELWOOD” construction created entirely from standard denim can now be seen at both the Omotesando and Osaka “G-Star RAW” stores. Head there today and take a look for yourselves!!

Last thursday, February 14th, Syn went to the opening party of “MAISON KITSUNÉ” and “CAFÉ KITSUNÉ” in Tokyo.

CAFÉ KITSUNÉ is a short one minute walk from MAISON KITSUNÉ. Both buildings are beautifully designed, with inspiration drawn from the traditional and very special Japanese tea ceremony.

The CAFE KITSUNE baristas have all been trained at the popular “OMOTESANDO KOFFEE”, so it’s no surprise the coffee here is amazing!

Maybe because it was Valentines Day, all of us were given a little gift of chocolate at the party!

As of February 15th 2013, both MAISON KITSUNÉ and CAFÉ KITSUNÉ are officially open. Make sure you visit both while you’re in the area, and give their fantastic coffee a try too!

Last friday the 8th of February, we went to the Comme des Carrés reception party held in Ginza, Tokyo. It was a reception party to announce the new “Comme des Carrés” silk scarf collection, as designed by French luxury brand, “Hermès”, and Rei Kawakubo of COMME des GARÇONS”.

Pre-orders scarves.

There were brightly colored mannequins, as well as an elephant to complete the very unique venue.
