James Matsuki

A&R Manager

Born in London, raised in Tokyo.

James has music in his blood, he graduated New York University and soon after joined NYT to produce the New York - Tokyo Music Festival in Central Park, introducing the freshest new acts from the Tokyo underground scene. He then joined deep house label, King Street Sounds as the Business Affairs & Licensing Manager, where he built his foundations in licensing, production and legal affairs.

In February 2008, James joined Syn as A&R Manager, overseeing all record label and music publishing affairs. He is also responsible for all client-driven music compilations, third-party licensing, rights clearances, TV commercial tie-ups, and the management of Syn’s catalogue. It’s easy to spot James in Syn, he is usually the one singing out loud with his headphones on.
